First Grade Concert
First grade "Hooked on Books" concert orchestrated by our own music specialist extraordinaire, Ms. Eason. Video here.
During the 2016 - 2017 school year, the PGES PTA had a wide variety of events taking place.
November 18th - Now Hear This The Science of Sound for grades 2 - 5
What is music? How do instruments work? How does sound travel from the musician to our ears? The teaching musicians of Community Music School present an interactive performance on the science of sound. Students learn about the physics of sound waves, the different families of instruments and how they work, and how a song is put together using different instruments. Our performers will demonstrate with real instruments, and will build instruments out of everyday objects, live and onstage. The audience will participate in creating music as a group, and the musicians will integrate musical samples throughout the performance. The event will conclude with a performance of popular music using many of the instruments created on stage.
